Teaching: Steve Dossin is an educator. He loves to to enrich both the knowledge and the lives of his students. He has taught at LeTourneau University, at the University of Dallas Graduate School of Management, at the University of Texas at Dallas, at Southern Methodist University, at Dallas Christian College, and now at Tarrant County College.
Business: Steve is a professional business consultant and president of Dossin Business Solutions, Inc. He advises and assists executives and managers in the areas of information management, finance, forecasting and budgeting, and mergers and acquisitions.
Education and experience: A native of Fort Worth, Steve received his bachelor's degree from Austin College in Sherman, Texas. He earned his Ph.D. from Southern Methodist University. His decades of business experience include work in the management of manufacturing and distributing companies -- primarily in the areas of finance, computer technology, human resources, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
Computer skills: Steve's long experience in using computer and communication technology to improve productivity includes extensive work with IBM Midrange computers from the System/3 to the AS/400 (aka iSeries, System i, and Power Systems running IBM i) This includes programming in RPG from RPG II to RPG ILE, including CGI programming for the web. He is also skilled in in a wide variety of PC software, including business and statistical applications.
Ministry: Steve Dossin is the co-founder of Living the Abundant Life Ministry, a discipling ministry in faith, freedom, and finances. The Living the Abundant Life Seminar, a presentation given primarily through churches, teaches how to apply Biblical financial principles. This ministry also has other presentations and services available.
Church: Steve has served the churches he has been a member of in a variety of capacities including Elder, President, Treasurer, Stewardship Chair, and instructor for new members' classes. He has served the Texas District of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod as a member of the District Stewardship Committee. He and his wife Nita are members of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fort Worth, Texas.
Politics: Steve has been active in politics, having served as the Chairman of a Texas political action committee. His belief in fair elections is evidenced by his work on elections as a poll watcher, as an election clerk, and as an election judge. He has been elected as a delegate to State political conventions several times. He has also developed the Coming Together Plan, a plan for tax and welfare reform which combines the best from both liberal and conservative philosophies.
Community: Steve was involved in the founding of schools for "at-risk" youth through Dallas/Fort Worth Street Schools, where he has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors and as Treasurer and Director of Technology. He has also served as Treasurer and as a Director of Word of Life Ministry (now known as Forgotten Saints), which provides chaplains for nursing homes.
Media: Steve has been listed in Who's Who in the South and Southwest. He has been quoted and interviewed in a variety of publications, including a thirty minute interview on the television program Business and Law.
